My “Why?”
When people ask me what I do, I tell them: “I help hurt women heal.” I understand that unshared stories show up in our relationships, workplace, and place of worship. I am driven by a desire to help you get past your stuck places; whether it’s the little things that keep piling up, or the suffering weight of life’s unexpected trials.
How I Got Here
My path to this mission is a story that includes being raised by a single mother, being divorced with two children, and surviving breast cancer. I am a licensed counselor and social worker with years of community mental health experience with at-risk women, along with 20 years of corporate experience. In addition to this practice, I work daily with childhood trauma and behavior issues at a local school district. My education, faith, and experience have prepared me to provide you with the support needed when you’ve experienced childhood neglect/abuse/betrayal; messy relationships; loss; struggles with change; and parental drama.
What it Means
I have always found comfort in words: spoken, heard, and read. My logo and practice represent the power of new narratives. I believe that our feelings, thoughts, and behaviors are reflections of our relationships, or lack of. I believe that people love the best way they know how. I believe that therapy is about transformation, and that the primary goal of human life is to be transformed. I do work with storytelling and helping people modify their thinking to help accomplish this.
